Doug Liddle is presumably a guitar teacher who approached St Bernadine for promotional purposes, in this case his business card. Although minimal in design, the concept is rather impeccable, different variations offering the finger placements that create different chords, naturally labelled with what chord is being exampled. The print finish adds a lot to the overall aesthetic of the design, making use of black spot on black stock.
It is the immidiate deliverence of profession that encouraged me to reference this project. Working alongside the fashion designer Liz Michie to create her personal identity, I want to encorporate a direct reference to her practice through the use of print finish and stock choices. Maybe not a literally as Liddle's cards pictured above, but it is that idea of profession association I want to achieve.
